Classes of Membership

Regular Members
Regular Members are those persons who own an un-divided or community property interest in and have registered with the GHRA one or more Gypsy Horses, Section A, B, or C, who have applied for and been accepted to membership in the GHRA, by the Board of Directors or their designee and who are not in arrears in payment of their annual dues.

Lifetime Members
Lifetime Members are those persons who own an undivided or community property interest in and have registered with the GHRA one or more Gypsy Horse Section A, B, or C, who have applied for and been accepted to membership in the GHRA, by the Board of Directors or their designee and who are not in arrears in payment of their lifetime fee. Lifetime members shall pay no annual dues. For purposes of these Bylaws the term “Regular Membership” shall be deemed to include “Lifetime Member” except where otherwise specified.

Associate Members
Associate Members are those persons who are interested in the objectives and purposes of the GHRA but who do not own a Gypsy Horse Section A, B, or C, at the time of application for membership in the GHRA, who have  applied for and been accepted to membership in the GHRA, by the Board of Directors or their designee and who are not in arrears in payment of their annual dues.

Youth Members
Youth Members are those persons under age eighteen (18) who are interested in the objectives and purposes of the GHRA but who may or may not have a Gypsy Horse Section A, B, or C at the time of application of membership.

*Note: It is not necessary to be a member to register your horse, nor is it necessary to own a horse to become a member. However, ANNUAL membership payment is encouraged to assist the registry in growing, advertising, promotion, providing educational services, providing guidance with events, and more. Please support your registry with annual membership renewal!

There are many additional perks to being a member, including our magazine, Gypsy Horse World, mailed to members 4 times a year, as well as discounted fees for registration.

The Gypsy Cob Registry of America, Inc. was founded in May 2003 to provide an organization to promote the breed and to maintain a permanent registry devoted wholly to the interests of the Gypsy Cob. In August of 2008, the membership voted to change the organization’s name to the Gypsy Horse Registry of America, Inc. to better represent the breed to the public... 

The Gypsy Horse Registry of America, Inc. is chartered under the laws of Texas
and is a not-for-profit educational organization.

Membership in the Gypsy Horse Registry of America, Inc. is available to all persons who subscribe to the objectives of the Registry, agree to abide by its rules and regulations, and who apply for membership. 

• Regular members are those persons who have registered with Gypsy Horse Registry of America, Inc. one or more horses/ponies and who have paid their membership fee. 
  
• Associate members are persons who have not registered horses/ponies with the Gypsy Horse Registry of America, Inc. and who have paid their membership fee.
  
• Youth members are those persons under age eighteen (18) who are interested in the objects and purposes of the Gypsy Horse Registry of America, Inc. but who may or may not own a horse/pony at the time of application for membership.

All regular members are entitled to vote on any Gypsy Horse Registry of America, Inc. matters, whereas Associate and Youth members do not have voting privileges.

Annual membership year runs from Jan 1st – Dec 31st.  

Membership renewals are due on Jan 1st. 
After Mar 1st, membership will be terminated if renewal dues are not paid. 

Members not current with their dues are not considered members in good standing and are not entitled to membership privileges.
