My objective is to fairly and professionally officiate Equine competitions, shows and special events. I strive to create an atmosphere of the most professional nature along with adding a relaxed and comfortable attitude within the scope of the show requirements. My goals are to abide by the rules of the Association, become a working part of the show for which I am hired and extend to each and every exhibitor my unbiased and honest attention.
I have been an accredited equine judge for 14 years. I have judged over 90 horse shows with several of those shows being National, World or Regional Events. I have judged the AMHR National Show as well as the AMHA National Show. I have judged 3 AMHR Area Shows. I have also judged several ASPC Show with Modern and Classic Ponies. I have judged several horse shows with Miniatures and Ponies in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Canada. Two of those shows being the Association National Show of that country. I have judged several State Fairs and Large Stock Shows. I hold 5 judging cards at the present time AMHR, ASPC, NMDA, AMHA, POA. I am also an USEF carded judge.
I have a teaching degree from Sonoma State University and a Meeting and Event Planning Certification from San Francisco State College.
I have always been open to the experiential learning method. Over this past 14 years in the professional field of equine judging I have been fortunate to judge with several highly qualified judges who have shared their talents of the unique technique of handling the show ring. Every horse show I judge I learn something new and take that experience to my next position.
I have facilitated several clinics and have been fortunate to have been on the governing panel of the Color Breed Council (International Judges Council).
I was part of the team that created the present Licensed Officials Committee for the AMHA and have been the event facilitator and developer for most of their program. Including but not limited to rulebook development, video procurement, form and format, and presentation.
I am an avid Harness Driver and have bred horses with that in mind for over 28 years. We have raised our two children in the horse show industry and know the Youth equine world as well as that of the Amateur. I feel that I have the experience, the enthusiasm, and the qualifications to judge in a fair, respectful and professional manner. I welcome the advancement of any breed and commit myself to following the appropriate breed standard and show rules |
